The new website provides a diverse range of resources and information in support of the downtown Athens corridor. It includes details around Athens’ lot, deck, and street parking options while serving as a digital portal for paying parking tickets and purchasing parking permits. It provides an overview of opportunities that serve to attract new businesses to locate in downtown Athens, including access to grant applications and other programs that further incentivize both potential and existing downtown tenants. And it offers necessary information about the ADDA’s organizational structure, board of directors, and mission while including key announcements and public access to all board meeting minutes.
But beyond all of that, the real crux of the new DT ATH website is the housing and promoting of downtown Athens’ range of services, dining options, entertainment possibilities, and artistic endeavors in a single, easily accessible digital platform–all geared towards serving both the greater Athens community and visitors alike.
A robust downtown businesses directory helps visitors locate area businesses by filtering through a number of categories. A music venue directory and a map featuring the recently installed Athens Music Walk of Fame promote Athens’ rich musical history and heritage, while additional maps highlight Athens’ downtown public art installations, as well as the African American Heritage Pathway. All of these features underscore the renaissance currently taking place to cement downtown Athens as an ever-emerging regional and national destination.
