When Kaptiv8 first engaged with the Innovation District team, they expressed concern over a lack of awareness among students and faculty. Reaching a target audience across the state of Georgia without a clear digital strategy is nearly impossible to effectively accomplish. We immediately got to work crafting a comprehensive digital strategy with one goal in mind: increasing awareness of the multitude of resources available to UGA entrepreneurs, startups, and students through the Innovation District.
With our social media strategy clearly outlined, we established accounts on Instagram and LinkedIn to amplify success stories from entrepreneurs and students, promote events organized by the Innovation District and its ecosystem, and raise awareness of the resources they offer.
From there, we conducted interviews with Innovation District entrepreneurs, stakeholders, and startups to craft compelling editorial pieces. These stories further amplified and supported our digital strategy, adding a personal and relatable touch to our content. As we marketed events such as their inaugural Field to Fund Pitch Competition, we put boots on the ground as multimedia journalists by crafting feature stories, conducting attendee interviews, and capturing photography.
Accompanied by graphic design, a website refresh with SEO in mind, and paid social media, we were able to propel the Innovation District’s presence and generate awareness not just among UGA’s campus, but across the state of Georgia. With nearly 200,000 impressions produced within six months and a lofty LinkedIn engagement rate of 11.5%, the numbers speak for themselves.
